VISITING THAILAND? HOW TO GET TOURIST VISA FOR AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN TO THAILAND

A lot of tourists are coming to Thailand everyday due to its festivals, world-class Thai food, culture, and scenic spots. While tourism is very attractive to foreigners, securing a visit visa/tourist visa has always been a question.

For an Australian citizen who wants to visit Thailand
Upon entering Thailand by plane, every Australian national will get a 30-day visa on arrival. It means that if you want to extend your period of stay beyond that date, you need to apply for a Thailand tourist visa validated by a Royal Thai embassy or a Royal-Thai Consulate General.

If your purpose of coming to Thailand is as a tourist, you can apply for a 90- Day Thai Visa or a 1-Year Non-immigrant Visa.
This means you will be granted one visa for one entry (single entry visa). This type of visa will allow you 90-day duration of stay from date of arrival to Thailand.
It will give you multiple entries to Thailand. From the date of arrival to Thailand, you can stay for a period of 90 days per entry. You can go to the nearest border (about 4 hours away from Bangkok) so you can renew your stay for another 90 days in Thailand. There would be a period of validity of this type of visa would be one calendar year. Please note that you can apply for a one year extension of stay in Thailand, however granting of the extension would be the discretion of the Thai Immigration bureau upon submission of required documents.
